I discussed how you can sell your house quicker for more money with Rob Thorpe the Managing Director of InsideOutside. Rob has considerable experience in doing this and has gathered a team of designers and tradesmen around him to help him achieve this task for his clients.

Rob says  “I have always felt there is a huge need for this type of service in the local area because most people have such a strong attachment to their homes, they forget it is their most valuable asset and fail to see why it is slow to sell or does not achieve its market value.

InsideOutside’s designers view homes as marketable commodities and recommend simple yet essential improvements.  Rob is excited about the help he can give clients when they come to sell: “Our designers basically suggest cosmetic changes that may cost hundreds of pounds but can add thousands of pounds to the sale price.”

Rob told how InsideOutside work with homeowners once they start planning their move. “We have already arranged several home consulations for clients who plan to sell in the Spring and Summer of 2007, with work to begin in the new year.”

During an initial meeting InsideOutside’ consultantswill provide you with a set of verbal recommendations on what needs to be changed to improve the look of your property.  “It will take about an hour but will be an excellent investment of your time and money,” Rob says.

Following this initial consultation InsideOutside will provide a full written report. This will include photographs, and will show areas of your home where suggested improvements could be made together with detailed costings. InsideOutside will then contact you to run through the ideas.

The final step is to engage a design consultant and a project manager to complete a makeover of the property using approved tradespeople, as required.
 
Rob describes the service as being:  “Especially useful if you have a property which won’t sell because it doesn’t look up to scratch but perhaps you don’t have the time or the knowledge to make the necessary changes yourself.”

Rob talks with enthusiasm about a makeover he did on a house in Telford recently which added £10,000 to its sale value.  “A client was trying to sell his property in Telford – it was a 4 bedroom detached property 10 years old that hadn’t had any improvements made or maintenance carried out since it had been built - it just wasn’t reaching its potential value.”

“We worked with the client and, following the advice of our design consultant, the team did some work which had a dramatic impact. Not only did the work add substantially to the value of the house, but my client had 20 viewers in the first 10 days.”
